Contract description:

Complete refurbishment of existing engine plant for new engine line.  The main works included the breakout and recycling of over 11000 m3 of existing concrete floor and construction of a new 26000m2 reinforced floor slab tying into existing pile caps and ground beams the floor was then finished with an advanced epoxy resin finish.

The existing building structure was cleaned and repainted approx 42ooom2. The project had a fast track program and many months had to be worked 24 hours a day and at times there were over 150 operatives and more than 20 excavators on site.

To add to the fast track program within a meter from the main site the remainder of the plant was still producing engines; the entire site was internally screened to keep dust out of the manufacturing environment.

The project was a complete success and completed under budget within the set time constraints.
